Apple and Cheddar Grilled Cheese Sandwich

It's been almost a week since I posted and I am so sorry, but I've been busy with law school orientation which can be summed up in three words -- busy, exciting and stressful. Once the initial shock of law school is over, my intention is to post a lot more regularly because everyone needs a break from studying! Until  I can find a good balance between school and I life I can promise all of you that I will be posting at least once a week because my wonderful boyfriend  has agree to help me test my recipes, therefore, at least once a week I've got to make dinner in order to keep him happy :)

This recipe is one I dreamed up in one of my orientation classes this evening because it seems no matter how much I eat before class I always end up hungry! I was really craving some homemade macaroni and cheese but I was missing some ingredients (don't worry that recipe will come later this week or next week) so I opted for a simple and quick recipe with ingredients I already had.

Ingredients:
-Bread (whatever you typically use)
-Cheddar cheese slices
-Half an apple, sliced thinly
-Butter or cooking spray

Build a grilled cheese in the skillet like you typically would.

Add the thinly sliced apple.

Top with the second slice of bread.

Once the sandwich is toasted on both sides and the cheese is melted then it's ready to be eaten!

This is a quick and easy recipe with ingredients that most people have in the kitchen already. The apple's added a fresh bite to the sandwich and the sweetness complemented the cheddar cheese nicely. This is a recipe to look into for an easy lunch or a late night snack.

  2. I'm not even sure how I thought of it, I'm just glad it worked out.

  3. I made this one today. I used raisin bread and shredded Colby jack cheese because I had them already. It was pretty good!

  4. Cheese and raisin bread doesn't sound like a good combination to me, I'm making something with Colby jack tonight.
