Red Velvet Poke Cake

I'm a sucker for red velvet cake so this pin had me hooked as soon as I saw it. Also, the instructions are super simple.

Ingredients:
-1 box Red Velvet cake mix (ingredients needed to make cake eggs, oil & water)
-2 (3.4 oz.) boxes instant Cheesecake-flavored pudding
-4 cups milk
-1 tub frozen whipped topping, thawed

Mix red velvet cake and pour into a greased pan.

Bake according to directions.

Once the bake is fully cooked, remove from oven and poke with the handle of a wooden spoon.

Mix the pudding according to package directions and then pour the unset pudding over the cake.

Smooth the pudding out to make sure it's in the holes

Put in the refrigerator to cool and set.

Spread on whipped topping and serve.

The cake was really moist and the cheesecake pudding did give a flavor reminiscent of the traditional cream cheese frosting that is traditionally on red velvet cake. Overall I think this was a success.
