Spicy Smashed Sweet Potatoes

I've been meaning to try this out for a while, because sweet potatoes are one of my favorite foods. This seemed like a good way to make a little bit of a different side out of them. This was also easy to make, the seasonings are all common things I had already.

This recipe comes from My Happily Ever After.

Ingredients:
3 sweet potatoes (or I used a can)
4 Tbsp brown sugar
1 1/2 tsp ground cumin
2 1/2 tsps chili powder
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
2 Tbsp olive oil
Cut the potatoes into pieces. Mine were big enough for about
2 bites. If you are using actual sweet potatoes,
peel and cook them first.
Use the back of a spoon to smash them and make a crater.
Mix the seasonings in a bowl, and add a spoonful to the middle
of the sweet potatoes. Drizzle with olive oil.
Bake for 30 minutes at 350.

This combination of seasoning was great! I'll probably try it again soon on something else. The outside of the potatoes got a little crispy, but not too much, they were mostly still soft.
