Caramel and Chocolate Saltine Bars

We've made some other types of bars like this in the past, like Christmas CrackValentines Crack, and Halloween Crack. This one was a little different because instead of just using chocolate as the base, this used crackers. It turned out really well this way.

This recipe is from Table for Two.

Ingredients:
40 saltine crackers (1 sleeve)
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter
1 cup dark brown sugar
2 cups chocolate chips
1/2 cup chopped almonds

Spread out the saltines on parchment paper on a cookie sheet.
Melt butter and  brown sugar.
Boil three to five minutes.
This was about when  took it off the stove.
Spread the caramel over the crackers and bake at 400 for 5 minutes.
Melt chocolate in a bowl, and spread the over the crackers.
Crush almonds and sprinkle on top.
Let cool and break apart.

I liked this a lot, so did everyone else. The caramel we made was really tasty, the whole thing tasted kind of like a Heath bar. It was really easy to make too, not much time and only a few steps.
