Delicious and simple red velvet French toast for a sweet and special breakfast.
Inspired by Cafe Delites.
-2 tablespoons vanilla-flavored almond milk
-2 tablespoons red velvet cake mix
-4 thin slices bread, or 2 thick slices
-4 tablespoons cream cheese frosting
-dusting of confectioner's sugar
Thoroughly mix the eggs, almond milk and red velvet cake mix in a bowl, then soak the bread in the egg mixture. Let it really seep into the bread, and soak both sides, then gently wipe off the excess.
In a saute pan over medium heat, cook the French toast in a little bit of cooking spray for 2-3 minutes, turn once to cook evenly for another few minutes.
Top with or sandwich cream cheese frosting for a red-velvet-cake experience but quick and easy for breakfast. Works great for a special occasion or as a treat for a special person. Lightly sprinkle with confectioner's sugar to serve.
