Sparkling Apple Sangria

This is the final recipe that I served during my fall dinner -- the other two are Butternut Squash and Caramelized Onion Pizza and Slow Cooker Apple Cake.

Recipe from The Kitchn.

Ingredients:
-2 apples, peeled, cored and thinly sliced
-1/2 cup brandy
-2 cups apple cider
-750ml bottle  dry sparkling wine, chilled
-1/4 cup pomegranate seeds

In a large pitcher combine the apple cider and brandy. Add one of the slices from one peeled apple.Chill for two hours. Right before serving add the chilled sparkling wine, the other apple slices and pomegranate seeds. Cheers!

I was a little nervous about this recipe because I'm not a fan of brandy, but it was necessary to cut down on the sweetness. You couldn't taste anything buy apple cider. This was a really nice recipe for fall and a great way to use apples from apple picking.
